Meet Nojmol Islam
Nojmol is currently the Global Specialist Project Manager, for our business area Marine. Nojmol started with ASSA ABLOY back in 1994 and in that time, he has had the opportunity to take on several roles across the divisions within ASSA ABLOY.
Tell us a bit about you
I graduated in Electronics and Management from Middlesex University and joined ASSA Ltd in the UK, back in May 1994 as a Technical Assistant.
Working through various roles within the technical department for Opening Solutions, supporting both mechanical and access controls products, whilst working towards my Guild of Architectural Ironmongery (GAI) Diploma qualification which I gained in June of 2000. In 2000 I was then given the responsibility of Assistant Technical Manager and subsequently in 2002 I took up the role of Technical Manager.
Around 2012 the business units ASSA and Union were merged’ to form ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, with my role changing to Category Product Manager looking after Electromechanical products including CLIQ.
I was then given the opportunity to progress across divisions and made the move from Opening Solutions to Global solutions to take on my current role of Special Projects Manager for Marine. A few examples of my recent CLIQ projects were The Ritz Hotel London, National Portrait Gallery, and Spirit NCLH.

What do you think makes ASSA ABLOY special?
Since I’ve not been with any other organisation, I can’t comment on the difference between ASSA ABLOY and other organisations. However, my 29 years length of service with ASSA ABLOY speaks volumes of why I think ASSA ABLOY is so special, I have always felt supported and encouraged to further develop within the same business for nearly 30 years. Furthermore, when networking with colleagues in the industry, it has been said ASSA ABLOY Group leads the way
What do you love most about your role?
The interaction with our customers, the satisfaction I get from finding a solution which works for them and does not affect the way they work, is second to none. And that is all down to the collaboration between all departments in AAGS Marine and our customers.
